10-11 State Tournament Results
The Wilshire-Riverside 10 - 11 team went 1 and 3 in the State Tournament at Alpenrose Dairy finishing with at 6 - 2 win over District 3 champion Pendelton. This provided valuable tournament experience for next year's 11-12 tournament team.
Wilshire-Riverside Sweep in TOC
For the second straight year, Wilshire-Riverside swept the TOC. On Wednesday, Cascade 205 PT beat Penninsula 12 -11 in 15 innings to take the Majors crown. On Thursday, Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor defeated Rose City 5-4 in 7 innings. Photos from the Majors Final are presened below.
Cascade 205 Advances to TOC Championship
Cascade 205 PT defeated Amalfi's 5-4 in the TOC semi-final game to advance to the Championship Game on Tuesday. Matthew Bennent hit two home runs to pace Casade. The game was close throughout with Cascade holding a 3-1 lead into the 5th inning. Amalfi's responded with 3 runs in the fifth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Cascade tied the game on Matthew's second solo home run. In the sixth inning, Evan Brucker led off with a double to left field and eventually scored the go ahead run on a passed ball. In the other semi-final, Penninsula Brooks Staffing defeated Hollywood Willman 4-1. Cascade and Brooks Staffing will meet in the Championship Game Tuesday evening at Riverside Field; game time is 6:00 PM.
The Minors semi-finals will take place Monday. Fisherman's M&O will take on Viasge at Riverside and Wolf and Son will take on Roseway Theater at Rose City on Monday. Come out and support your team.

TOC Underway
The 2010 Tournament of Champions began under sunny skies on Saturday, June 5th. On Sunday however, the rains returned and most games were rained out. The TOC will be in full swing this week at fields all across NE Portland. The Majors Final is schedled for June 15th at Riverside Field. The Minors Final will take place the following day - also at Riverside. Come out and support your team. Scores and results will be posted at the following link:
2010 Spring Classic - Featuring teams from Hollywood and Wilshire Little Leagues
The Third Annual Spring Classic was held on May 5 through 11. The 2010 Spring Classic Championship Game featured two Wilshire Riverside teams - Fisherman's Marine & Outdoor and AIG. Although the game started out close, Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor pulled away in the late innings for the championship. This is the second year in a row that a Wilshire-Riverside team has won the Spring Classic. Congratulations to all the kids on both teams for advancing to the Championship Game.
