2010 Tournament of Champions Results
Last year, Wilshire-Riverside swept the Tournament of Champions (TOC). Cascade 205 PT beat Penninsula Brooks Staffing 12 -11 in 15 innings to take the Majors crown. The Majors final was a game for the ages played over two days. Cascade had just scored 2 runs to take a 2-1 lead when the umpire called for the tarps. The rain was heavy enough that the field could not be returned to playable condition to complete the game. When the game resumed the following day, Cascade scored four runs to take a 8-4 lead into the bottom sixth only to see Penninsula come back to tie the game. At one point, Penninsula was down to their last out when a home run to left center tied the game. Finally, in the 15th inning, Cascade scored a run to take the lead and was able to shut down Penninsula for the win. Overall, it was an incredible performance by both teams both at the plate batting and in the field.
The Minors final was also a close game that went into extra innings. Wilshire-Riverside completed the sweep when Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to edge out Roseway Theatre 5 to 4.
